PlEISTOCENE.2.6MA
This is a comic about the early Pleistocene and a look into deep time at our predecessors, hominins that lived around 2.6 to 1.9 million years ago. These are the primordial days, closer in the fog of time to the common ancestor of both humans and chimps.
In the woodlands and savannas, in tributaries and rivers around a massive lake in what will eventually be known as east Africa, scattered groups of hominids make their living off the land. These people walked upright, there hands had precision grip and they were fashioning stone tools. They were passing those skills on to their children. They are still part of the animal world and part of the land yet they are bipedal, tool makers, foragers, scavengers, hunters, planners, pioneers. They are those who came before US! |
